The Triple Tiara and Arlington Million Dollar Weekend

 

Princess of Sylmar looks to capture two of three in this years Triple Tiara series in the ALABAMA STAKES at Saratoga. The 600,000 purse interests a field of six including morning line 2/1 rival Fiftyshadesofhay and will be battled at a mile and a quarter on dirt. THE SWORD DANCER INVITATIONAL turf includes open company of 13 going a mile and a half. Morning line favorite Boisterous takes on the challenges of contenders Optimizer, Big Blue Kitten, Teaks North, and the filly Tannery.

Arlington Park hosts its premier turf race, THE ARLINGTON MILLION Stakes, with favorite Grandeur facing strong opposition from the likes of Indy Point, Little Mike, and long time fan favorite Rahystrada. The one and one fourth mile feature race will be 10th on a 12 race card.

 

Fort Larned Historic Whitney Bid and ‘Win N You’re In’ at Del Mar

 

Returning champion FORT LARNED will attempt to make history this weekend with consecutive victories in the Whitney Invitational Handicap at Saratoga. The field of 8 will hold strong opposition, including such competitors as Successful Dan, Mucho Macho Man, Ron the Greek, Alpha and Cross Traffic. And the ladies will have their day at Del Mar with the running of the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes. The mile and one sixteenth on All Weather tests fillies and mares and hosts a field of nine. Royal Delta and Fort Laurned headline Churchill Stakes

 

Two-time champion Royal Delta faces four to defend her Fleur de Lis Handicap crown this Saturday at Churchill Downs. It will be her first start after a disappointing finish in the $10 million Dubai World Cup. In the Stephen Foster Handicap, Fort Laurned, the 2012 Breeders Cup Classic winner, will work against a tough field of six to regain his dominance in the sport after his disappointing 2013 start at Gulfstream Park in March, where he stumbled, unseating jockey Brian Hernandez, and proceeded to race the track without a rider. Golden Ticket, Ron the Greek, Pool Play, Take Charge Indy and Successful Dan will also make their bids for the Foster’s 500K purse.
