NEW FEATURE: The OTP Editorial

While The Diva and Filep are off arguing about which track to race next and how many lengths they’ll probably lose by, we present to you a new feature, the OFF THE PACE EDITORIAL. Our first cartoon in this series is US jockey ROSIE NAPRAVNIK.

Happy Anniversary OFF THE PACE!

One year ago today (Preakness Day 2011) OFF THE PACE made its web debut. Since then, The Diva has:

* been featured on THE TAMPA BAY DOWNS HANDICAPPER,

* acted as spokeshorse for HORSE BREEDER DIRECT,

* hit the national scene via MICHAEL W. COMPTON.COM,

* appeared in artwork for auction at Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy’s RACE FOR GRACE at Millionaires Row, Churchill Downs, Derby week,

* entered the international stage in the official publication of the Swedish Jockey Club—GALOPP MAGASINET!

The good word about the “Prima Donna of all Thoroughbred Race Fillies” is hitting the masses and OFF THE PACE’s popularity continues to grow! My heartfelt thanks to all of you that have believed and supported this cartoon—YOU are a huge part of making all these good fortunes come true!

All my best,
A.E. Sabo
Filep Szabo and THE DIVA

PRESS RELEASE: Team Diva invades Churchill Downs

OFF THE PACE is teaming up with “Race For Grace” fundraiser.

The Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy’s annual Derby-time fundraising dinner–Race For Grace–is being supported by the unique equine-cartooning skills of Ann E. Sabo, creator of the OFF THE PACE cartoon website.  Ann is donating as silent auction items to the fundraiser, scheduled Monday, April 30th, on Churchill Downs’ Millionaires Row, several of her cartoon renderings as well as a special cartoon commission.

“I am very proud to be able to assist the Kentucky Racetrack Chaplaincy and the backside and farm workers that it serves,” said Ms. Sabo. “I consider their efforts spiritual caretaking for those that take care of our beloved equine athletes.”

Ann became familiar with the Race for Grace event through her advertising client, My Racing Heart Coffee of Louisville and its owner, Kate Richards Wilt. Kate was happy to make the introduction.

“Ann Sabo’s artistic hand takes even the newest racing fan one step further into the moment, the personalities and the magic of racing with a sense of humor and great skill,” said Ms. Wilt. “We are grateful that Ann has chosen to support the Kentucky Racetrack Chaplaincy’s annual fundraiser, Race for Grace, with her talent.”
