ACTRESS takes center stage in the BLACK-EYED SUSAN – MAY 19th

Maiden Actress clinched narrowly the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico Race Course after a sudden and intense rainstorm turned the track to slop. Actress is owned by Gary & Mary West, trained by Jason Servis and was ridden to victory by jockey Nik Juarez.

Nominations for Dubai World Cup night is a “who’s who” list of equine racing talents.

Included is the world’s #1, Arrogate, plus Mubtaahij and Hoppertunity. Songbird and Tepin are also nominated as are sprinters Mind Your Biscuits and Defrong.

In all, 779 horses from 22 countries received recognition, “We are gratified that our support for international racing in the form of subsidies and prize money continues to attract such a strong response from the world’s biggest names,” said Malih Al Basti, Meydan vice chairman and chairman of the Meydan Racing Committee.

Arrogate races for the $10 million Cup on March 25.
