Below is a letter skillfully written by horse owner and member of the ‘We Support Horse Racing’ movement, Karen Gentry.
Dear Senator Feinstein,
I am writing to you in response to your recent statement about Horse Racing’s critical test. I appreciate your concern for horses and I share your feelings of being heartbroken. Each horse is precious and loved by an owner and worker who cares for them daily.
That said, as an owner myself, it would appear there are some critical facts you have not brought up, that I would like to bring to your attention:
2019 Breeders’ Cup & NBC
NBC Sports is home to the 2019 Breeders’ Cup coverage and analysis live on TV, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app before, during and after. NBC Sports covers the November 2nd action on NBCSN, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET, with the Breeders’ Cup Classic hour jumping to NBC from 8-9 p.m. ET.

Keeneland Opener
The 2019 KEENELAND meet holds something for everyone! Great racing and race related events will run from Oct. 4th thru Oct. 26th.
This first Saturday will include: the $500,000 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1), $200,000 Woodford (G2) Presented By Keeneland, $1,000,000 Shadwell Turf Mile (G1), $400,000 First Lady (G1) presented by UK HealthCare, and the $250,000 Thoroughbred Club Of America (G2).
Other events of the day were the Sunrise Trackside, where patrons enjoyed seeing the mornings works of their favorite racehorses, The Hill the ultimate in tailgate parties, and the Jockey Autograph Signing for the PDJF.

Derby Day at PARX
The excitement is at PARX racing and today’s card includes: $1 Million G1 Pennsylvania Derby, $1 Million G1 Cotillion Stakes, $300,000 G2 Gallant Bob.
Top 3 YO’s gather for the $1 million G1 Pennsylvania Derby along with the filly’s $1 million G1 Cotillion Stakes which, for the first time ever, is a Breeders Cup “Win and You’re In” race.
Stakes races will appear today on the NBC (National) Derby Broadcast:
